Unas estrías longitudinales profundas recorren toda la altura de estas láminas azul acero, tan finas y tan regulares que dispersan la luz en un suave brillo azulado a lo largo del cristal. Una lámina más esbelta se desprende en ángulo bajo cerca de la parte superior, y unas motas dispersas de costra de alteración amarillo verdosa pálida se acumulan donde las terminaciones se apiñan.
Unas estrías así son diagnósticas. La estibina cristaliza en el sistema ortorrómbico y se alarga marcadamente según un eje, lo que deja esos surcos paralelos en todas las caras del prisma. El recubrimiento amarillo verdoso es una meteorización corriente —óxidos de antimonio que se forman en las aristas expuestas— y constituye un rasgo natural, no un daño. Con una dureza de apenas 2 y exfoliación perfecta a lo largo, unas láminas tan delgadas se disfrutan mejor mirándolas que manipulándolas.
Con 5,1 × 2,3 × 1,0 cm y 10 g, esta es una pieza pequeña y de detalle nítido, que se sostiene sobre el cubo de acrílico transparente que aparece en las imágenes. Las fotografías documentan este grupo de láminas exacto y nada parecido a él.
