À propos de ce spécimen
Yunxiao, Fujian, smoky quartz-feldspar floater at 49 g; a small cabinet piece that stands on its own.
Smoky quartz owes its brown-to-black tone to natural irradiation of trace aluminium in the lattice, and the best pieces keep transparency through the colour.
Feldspar forms the blocky, pale crystals that act as a stage for the more colourful minerals in a pegmatite pocket.
Yunxiao County in southern Fujian is a modern classic for Fanta-orange spessartine on smoky quartz and feldspar, mined from granite pegmatite pockets.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 5.7 × 4.9 × 2.5 cm (2.24 × 1.93 × 0.98 in) and 49 g (1.7 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
