維拉克魯茲紫水晶有著其他產地無法複製的樣貌：修長、纖細、玻璃質的晶柱，恰恰在尖端轉深為紫羅蘭色。這件來自墨西哥韋拉克魯斯州 Piedra Parada 的晶簇擁有完整的一扇——最高的一枚頂著濃烈的紫色——自閃亮的灰色母岩上升起，下方還有色調更淡的薰衣草紫晶體以較低的角度交錯生長。
這個產地的晶體以脆弱聞名，能在開採與運輸過程中保住晶尖的晶簇屬於例外；以 14.5 × 8.1 × 6.1 cm、248 g 而言，這在維拉克魯茲材料中是相當可觀的一件。
