數十枚鋼灰色的輝銻礦針狀晶體在此交錯再交錯，自共同的基部張開成一叢略微不對稱、豎立如鬃的放射狀晶簇。光澤撐起了整件標本：一道堅硬的金屬光沿著每一枚晶刃的全長奔行，在深刻的條紋迎光之處碎裂成明亮的平行線條。有幾枚針狀晶體完全脫離晶叢，獨自挺立在背景之前，尖端纖細而完好無損。
輝銻礦是硫化銻，Sb2S3，斜方晶系，它之所以抽長成刃狀，是因為其結構沿一個軸向的延伸遠快於另外兩個軸向。它同時也是任何人擺上層架的最軟礦物之一：莫氏硬度 2，軟到指甲就能刻出痕跡，晶刃在折斷之前會先彎曲。請托著底部拿取，切勿抓握針狀晶體，並讓指尖遠離鏡面般的晶面——皮膚油脂會使它們變得晦暗。
5.6 × 4.3 × 6.6 cm、96 g，一叢不帶母岩的放射狀晶簇，不附底座，此處以手持方式拍攝以供比例參考。這些畫面中的標本，就是將被裝箱的那一件。
