Snow-white aragonite grows as upright spires and rounded tufts out of a base of golden-yellow aragonite, so the piece is two colours of the same mineral stacked one on the other. The white spires are the eye-catcher and stand well clear of the yellow.
Two-tone aragonite from Guizhou is a distinctive local form; the piece stands on its own base.
At 171 g (6 oz) it is a cabinet specimen that makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case. Sold exactly as photographed; any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note is disclosed in this listing.
