About this specimen
Dark marmatite crystals form a broad uneven group with pale dolomite and quartz details along its edges. Under ordinary lighting, the larger black faces show small golden reflections and varied surface color. A supplied ultraviolet photograph displays yellow patches against a blue-lit background. Together the two views show the difference between the dark ordinary-light appearance and the photographed lighting response, while the angular crystal forms remain recognizable through both images. Dimensions: 4.2 × 2.5 × 3 cm / 42 × 25 × 30 mm / 1.65 × 0.98 × 1.18 inch. Estimated weight: 30 g / 1.06 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
