About this specimen
Yunnan iron concretion at 8 cm and 372 g; a cabinet sphere with a sparkling skin. Keep dry.
Iron concretions are rounded iron-oxide nodules that grew around a core in sediment; Yunnan pieces are collected for their sculptural, sometimes pyrite-bearing forms.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
By size it is cabinet, 8 × 7 × 5 cm (3.15 × 2.76 × 1.97 in) and 372 g (13.1 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
