About this specimen
A complete-all-round floater of large brown-green demantoid garnet crystals, the biggest several centimetres across, with dull, weathered faces mottled in pale green. It is described as a rare giant-crystal demantoid; the crystals interlock into a single lump.
Malian demantoid from the Diakon district in an unusually large floater; a display piece for the garnet collector, at 10 cm and over 850 g.
