About this specimen
Pale quartz points with green inner zones spread around an amber-brown garnet crystal on this miniature from Shijiangshan, Inner Mongolia.
Quartz crystals point both upward and outward from a compact, irregular base. Some faces reveal darker green inner areas, while the associated brown crystal adds a warm contrast at the front. Turning the piece shows the depth of the crystal spray and its green reverse side. The supplier calls the associated mineral sunshine garnet; no specific garnet species is asserted. The mineral responsible for the green coloration is not identified. Condition: quartz breakage is present, as explicitly disclosed by the supplier. Broken crystal surfaces and uneven edges are visible; this piece is not described as damage-free. Three complete views were taken from the original rotation video.
- Minerals: Quartz and garnet (supplier identification); green-coloring mineral unconfirmed
- Locality: Shijiangshan, Inner Mongolia, China (supplier-reported)
- Dimensions: 3 x 2.4 x 2 cm / 30 x 24 x 20 mm / 1.18 x 0.94 x 0.79 inch
- Estimated weight: 13.6 g / 0.48 oz; estimated from bounding volume, not measured
