About this specimen
Orange spessartine crystals dot a pale feldspar-rich base beside a larger smoky quartz point. Smaller dark quartz faces rise behind the main crystal, while mica and hyalite opal are also recorded in the association. The close view brings the orange garnet's individual faces into focus and shows their placement against the lighter host. Warm orange accents, smoky transparency and pale granular texture create three distinct visual elements within this small Fujian specimen. Dimensions: 3.3 × 2.3 × 2.9 cm / 33 × 23 × 29 mm / 1.30 × 0.91 × 1.14 inch. Estimated weight: 22 g / 0.78 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
