About this specimen
A red-coated quartz crystal rises beside pink-white calcite petals and bright, dark specular hematite on this Inner Mongolia specimen.
The broad front of the quartz carries a fine, granular reddish coating, while rotation reveals clearer faces along the opposite side. Pale calcite blades spread across the base and partly cover the quartz; reflective hematite surfaces add a metallic contrast on the reverse. Four complete views from the supplier video show these different sides of the same piece. The supplier describes the quartz as doubly terminated and identifies the associated minerals as calcite and specular hematite. The cause of the red surface coating is not separately identified. Natural irregularities and small uneven crystal edges remain visible.
