About this specimen
Orange-brown spessartine garnets sit among pale feldspar and smoky quartz from Zhangzhou, Fujian. One large rounded dodecahedral crystal anchors the lower center, while smaller amber garnets appear along the edges of blocky feldspar. Dark smoky quartz occupies a recessed area behind the main crystal and partly encloses smaller garnet forms. The second view shows the balanced distribution of warm crystals across the cream matrix. Dimensions: 2 × 1.5 × 2.1 cm / 20 × 15 × 21 mm / 0.79 × 0.59 × 0.83 inch. Estimated weight: 6 g / 0.21 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
