這件標本從裡到外都是輝銻礦——幾乎沒有母岩可言，只有數百枚鉻般明亮的刀刃狀晶體彼此交鎖，堆成一座堅實而閃爍的金屬山峰。寬闊帶縱紋的晶體疊在針狀細晶之上，每一個表面都在拋擲光線；握在手中，它看來像一件用鏡面鋼焊接而成的雕塑。
產自湖南冷水江銻礦區——該礦種的世界標竿。像這樣通體皆晶的塊體，正是這座礦山最富饒的晶洞所產出的樣貌，而它們所帶的存在感，是同尺寸的母岩標本無法比擬的：621 g 的純結晶礦石。
