분필 같은 울새알빛 푸른색이 이 구이저우성 표본의 모든 것을 덮으며 자랐습니다. 그 피복 아래로는 파묻힌 형태를 여전히 읽어낼 수 있습니다. 뭉툭한 올리브빛 황갈색 덩어리와 피라미드가 껍질을 뚫고 솟아오르고, 표면 자체는 무광에 부드러워 보이며 깁사이트가 깃털처럼 얇게 퍼진 자리에서는 희미하게 섬유질을 띱니다. 폭보다 키가 크고 살짝 기울어져 있어 탑 같은 윤곽을 지닙니다.
깁사이트 Al(OH)3는 보크사이트를 알루미늄 원광으로 만들어 주는 광물입니다. 땅속에는 풍부하지만 진열장에서는 거의 볼 수 없습니다. 결정형을 갖춘 진열급 표본은 정말로 드물고, 이 표본을 두 번 들여다보게 만드는 것은 바로 그 푸른 색조입니다. 모스 경도 약 2.5에서 3.5로 무르며, 옅은 피복은 손의 유분에 닿으면 광택을 잃습니다. 아랫부분을 잡고, 물로 씻기보다 마른 상태로 먼지를 털어 주십시오.
크기는 12.5 × 7.5 × 5.7 cm, 무게는 184 g으로 부피에 비해 가볍고 세워 두었을 때 가장 보기 좋습니다. 받침대는 포함되지 않습니다. 사진은 대체품이 아니라 바로 이 깁사이트를 촬영한 것입니다.
