About Baiyangping Cu-Ag Mine
The Baiyangping Cu-Ag Mine in northwestern Yunnan is part of the Lanping basin — a major sediment-hosted Pb-Zn-Cu-Ag metallogenic district along the Lanping-Simao tectonic zone. The mine produces silver-rich chalcopyrite-tetrahedrite ore with bornite and copper sulfosalts. Active since the 1990s.
Geology & Signature Specimens
Mineralization is hosted in Cretaceous-Paleogene continental clastic sediments in a thrust-and-fold mountain belt. The deposit is interpreted as MVT/sediment-hosted Cu-Ag style with mineralization controlled by basin-wide brine migration. Copper grades reach 2–3% with Ag grades >100 g/t in select bodies.
