About Dabaoshan Polymetallic Mine

The Dabaoshan polymetallic mine in Qujiang County, Guangdong, is a major Cu-Pb-Zn-W-Mo skarn-porphyry deposit active since the 1960s. The mine sits along the Nanling polymetallic belt and produces collector-grade scheelite, molybdenite, and chalcopyrite. Dabaoshan complements existing Guangdong locality coverage alongside Fankou.

Geology & Signature Specimens

Mineralization is hosted in skarn and porphyry contact zones between Late Yanshanian granitic intrusions and Carboniferous carbonate sequences. Tungsten-molybdenum mineralization concentrates in skarn ore bodies with scheelite and molybdenite, while peripheral copper-lead-zinc concentrates host chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite. Annual production includes ~25,000 tonnes Cu, plus W and Mo concentrates.
