About Jinduicheng Mine
The Jinduicheng Mine in Huaxian County, Shaanxi Province is China’s largest single molybdenum deposit and one of the world’s largest porphyry-type Mo mines. Active since the 1960s, it produces both industrial-grade molybdenum concentrate and exceptional collector-grade molybdenite specimens — including hexagonal tabular crystals and foliated booklets prized by sulfide collectors. The mine completes the Cu-Mo-Au porphyry chain anchored by Stage 19’s Dexing entry.
Geology & Signature Specimens
Mineralization is hosted in the Jinduicheng granite porphyry stock of Late Yanshanian age, with disseminated and stockwork-veined molybdenite distributed through a fractured felsic intrusion. Collector specimens favor sharp hexagonal molybdenite tablets on quartz-pyrite matrix, occasionally accompanied by scheelite and minor wolframite. Reserves exceed 700,000 tonnes contained Mo — a globally significant single deposit.
