About Tongbai Mountains Mining District
The Tongbai Mountains Mining District spans the Henan-Hubei border and hosts gold, silver, and pegmatite deposits along the suture zone between the North China Craton and the Yangtze Block. The Tongbai gold belt produces collector-grade specimens of pyrite, chalcopyrite, and gold from Yindongpo (Silver Cave Slope) and adjacent mines.
Geology & Signature Specimens
Mineralization spans multiple deposit types: shear-zone-hosted gold-silver veins, pegmatite-hosted rare-element bodies (Be, Li), and skarn-style polymetallic ores. The host rocks include Late Proterozoic to Paleozoic metasedimentary sequences metamorphosed to amphibolite facies. Tongbai supplements existing Henan locality coverage alongside Sandaozhuang.
