About this specimen
A winding blue ridge travels across this broad Qinglong specimen, bordered by pale and lilac-toned creedite growth. The gibbsite surface rises into rounded folds, leaving irregular gaps and small ledges between the brighter blue areas. Its low, sweeping silhouette changes noticeably in the angled view. An additional photograph shows the piece under ultraviolet lighting, so the ordinary-light image is especially useful for judging the blue and pale crystal contrast. Dimensions: 6.2 × 2.1 × 3.3 cm / 62 × 21 × 33 mm / 2.44 × 0.83 × 1.30 inch. Estimated weight: 36 g / 1.27 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
