About this specimen
A dense field of translucent calcite crystals climbs over a dark limonite-rich matrix, creating a bright, irregular ridge with several larger crystal faces rising above the cluster. Rust-orange iron staining appears in narrow seams and pockets, adding warmth between the clear and milky surfaces. Close views reveal a mix of blocky terminations, smaller sparkling points and exposed black-brown matrix. The specimen has a substantial, three-dimensional form rather than a flat display face, so the texture changes noticeably as it is turned.
