About this specimen
Meigu, Sichuan, garden quartz at 4 cm; a miniature single crystal. A big quartz crystal, clear through most of its body, with rust-orange inclusions caught in pockets near the surface and broad flat faces meeting at the termination.
The inclusions in garden quartz are frozen mid-growth, which is why every crystal reads as a small, unrepeatable scene.
Meigu County in the Liangshan prefecture of Sichuan is known for green phantom quartz with epidote and chlorite inclusions.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 4 × 3.7 × 3.3 cm (1.57 × 1.46 × 1.30 in). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
