About this specimen
A slender clear quartz point rises above a crowded gray-brown mineral group, with shorter points crossing the front. Dark rounded goethite growth sits among the more angular surfaces of the garnet-bearing base. The angled photograph reveals additional quartz tips behind the main upright crystal and shows the irregular depth of the cluster. Clear edges, rounded dark areas and muted earthy surfaces share a compact space, giving this Inner Mongolian association several contrasting growth patterns to examine. Dimensions: 3.4 × 2.5 × 3 cm / 34 × 25 × 30 mm / 1.34 × 0.98 × 1.18 inch. Estimated weight: 38 g / 1.34 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
