About this specimen
Deep green dioptase crystals gather along the upper edge of a pink-brown matrix. Smaller malachite-rich green areas extend around the dark reflective faces and appear in isolated patches farther down the front. Most of the warm-colored matrix remains exposed. The closer angle shows the thickness of the upper green group and the contrast between smooth crystal faces, finer green coatings and the coarse texture of the broad supporting surface.
