About this specimen
Small vivid green malachite tufts are scattered across a rough dark-brown limonite and cuprite association. Some tufts occupy shallow hollows, while others follow the edges of raised rusty patches. The close view shows the fine texture of the green areas against the much coarser host. This broad matrix specimen has an uneven, craggy surface, so its interest lies in exploring the scattered green growth rather than focusing on a single large crystal. Dimensions: 5.4 × 2.3 × 4.5 cm / 54 × 23 × 45 mm / 2.13 × 0.91 × 1.77 inch. Estimated weight: 50 g / 1.76 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
