About this specimen
Yunnan double-terminated quartz at 6 cm and 22 g; a small cabinet piece, priced with the tips disclosed. A slender grey double-terminated quartz with a soft, porcelain-like body, the grey-toned Shanling quartz the supplier names; the supplier notes both tips are slightly damaged.
Double-terminated quartz grew free of the wall, so both ends carry natural terminations.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 1.4 × 1.5 × 6 cm (0.55 × 0.59 × 2.36 in) and 22 g (0.8 oz). Disclosed condition: both tips slightly damaged. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. Condition is otherwise as photographed.
