About this specimen
Warm brown grossular garnet faces appear among pale gray-green diopside growth on a compact matrix. A shallow opening near the upper portion separates several angular brown surfaces, with finer crystals visible within and around the recess. The source describes a hollow garnet form associated with diopside. The angled photograph reveals the uneven depth of the opening and the contrast between the broader brown faces and smaller surrounding mineral growth. Dimensions: 2.6 × 1.7 × 1.8 cm / 26 × 17 × 18 mm / 1.02 × 0.67 × 0.71 inch. Estimated weight: 8 g / 0.28 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
