About this specimen
A cluster of tall, clear Himalayan quartz points from Nepal, several showing grey phantom outlines inside.
The crystals are glassy and mostly transparent. Several points hold grey phantom outlines, earlier growth stages trapped inside the crystal, and there is light iron staining near the base. Himalayan quartz from Nepal grows in alpine-type veins high in the mountains, and phantoms record pauses in growth when a thin film settled on the crystal before it grew again.
Found with: light iron-oxide staining at the base. It comes from Himalaya, Nepal.
