About this specimen
Dimensions: 29.5 × 11.0 × 9.0 cm (11.61 × 4.33 × 3.54 in); longest edge 295 mm (11.61 in).
A slender, tapering laser point of natural clear quartz, left in its rough state so the long faces keep their ridged, stepped growth texture. The tip is clean and well formed, and the body shifts from glassy near the termination to softly misty lower down, with pale greyish veils and a few amber-stained patches near the base.
The crystal arrives with a carved tree-root stand, finished in deep red-brown with dark grain, which holds it upright like an obelisk. Lifted off the stand it is just as striking lying on a shelf, and the length makes it a real centrepiece for a room. A video of the piece can be shared on request.
