About this specimen
Xuebaoding, Sichuan, cathedral quartz at 5.9 cm and 37 g; a small cabinet piece, priced with the damage disclosed. A pale golden cathedral quartz crystal with stepped faces and a milky base; the supplier notes slight damage on the inner side of the tip.
Cathedral quartz stacks sub-parallel terminations up the prism, giving the crystal a spired, architectural outline.
The Xuebaoding veins of Pingwu County, Sichuan, produced the orange scheelite and muscovite-aquamarine combinations that put Chinese minerals on the map.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 2.5 × 2.2 × 5.9 cm (0.98 × 0.87 × 2.32 in) and 37 g (1.3 oz). Disclosed condition: slight damage on the inner side of the tip. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. Condition is otherwise as photographed.
