About this specimen
Pale violet quartz crystals frame broad black specular hematite fans. Clear-looking faces with a faint lilac tint gather along the outer edges, while long dark plates occupy much of the center. Several quartz forms extend beyond the hematite, creating a wide irregular outline. The angled photograph reveals more transparent-looking surfaces and shallow internal lines around the dark fans, emphasizing the contrast between pale faceted crystals and narrow metallic blades. Dimensions: 7.2 × 3.1 × 4.4 cm / 72 × 31 × 44 mm / 2.83 × 1.22 × 1.73 inch. Estimated weight: 130 g / 4.59 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
