About this specimen
Pink-purple calcite crystals form the upper part of this small specimen, with a pale green malachite band visible beneath them. Several larger flat faces rise above a fringe of much smaller crystals. The side view exposes a darker underside and shows how the pink group projects beyond the supporting matrix. Soft color changes across the crystal faces contrast with the rougher green and brown layers below, giving this Nujiang association a clear difference between its upper and lower surfaces.
