About this specimen
Overlapping pink rhodochrosite blades spread across a broad, low matrix, forming a densely textured field of small crystal faces. White quartz appears around the perimeter and between several pink groups, with pyrite and galena also present. Darker patches punctuate the right-hand side and lower edge. Unlike a specimen dominated by one large crystal, this piece draws attention to the many changing blade orientations and the small pale openings between the pink clusters. Dimensions: 6.7 × 3.2 × 4.1 cm / 67 × 32 × 41 mm / 2.64 × 1.26 × 1.61 inch. Estimated weight: 81 g / 2.86 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
