About this specimen
A narrow quartz stem supports a small crown of dark specular hematite and pale crystal points. The upper growth spreads beyond the slender lower crystal, giving the miniature specimen a distinctly top-heavy outline. Fine dark reflections appear among the pale points. The reverse view reveals more of the quartz-rich upper cluster and the uneven sides of the stem, showing how the compact crown changes in appearance as the specimen is turned. Dimensions: 1 × 0.8 × 1.8 cm / 10 × 8 × 18 mm / 0.39 × 0.31 × 0.71 inch. Estimated weight: 2 g / 0.07 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
