About this specimen

This substantial natural quartz point carries record-keeper (library) growth markings on its shiny faces, and inside it encloses a dark phantom line that shows as a smoky band across the crystal. The upper body is pale and frosted-clear, deepening to grey toward the base.
Patches of tan, crumbly natural crust cling to the sides, giving the piece a raw, just-unearthed look, and a small attached crystal grows from one flank. Heavy and solid in the hand, it is a satisfying specimen and a strong focal point on a bookcase or study desk.
