Guangdong quartz cluster at 9 cm and 180 g; a cabinet piece. A cluster of slender quartz crystals with a red iron skin, as the supplier notes, on a dark base.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Guangdong's Jinlong district is known for hematoid and chlorite-phantom quartz with specular hematite, alongside fluorite and calcite.
