About this specimen
Dark galena faces show deep surface grooves and uneven recesses across a broad mineral group. Cream dolomite clusters, reddish quartz areas and metallic yellow accents break up the darker surface. The source also records chalcopyrite, pyrite and iron-rich sphalerite in the association. A closer angle reveals the contrast between the heavily textured galena and the smaller pale rounded groups around it. The recorded mass is substantial for the specimen's dimensions, reflecting its compact, densely intergrown appearance. Dimensions: 8 × 5.5 × 6 cm / 80 × 55 × 60 mm / 3.15 × 2.17 × 2.36 inch. Recorded weight: 508 g / 17.92 oz.
