About this specimen
White popcorn-like gypsum and pale creedite form a narrow crystal group from Guizhou. The normal-light photograph shows cream and tan crystalline surfaces along a dark matrix, while the ultraviolet view records a strong red response with cooler blue-purple areas nearby. Small pointed crystals occupy the center and one end. Both appearances are described separately so the vivid UV colors are not presented as the specimen's ordinary daylight color.
