About this specimen
A dark galena crystal with layered-looking edges rises from a cream dolomite matrix, accompanied by small yellow sphalerite and recorded pyrite. Smaller dark crystals appear farther along the pale surface. The close view emphasizes the larger galena's uneven reflective faces and the rounded dolomite texture immediately below it. From the side, the matrix forms a low elongated base, keeping the main dark crystal visibly raised above the smaller scattered mineral areas around its edges. Dimensions: 4.5 × 1.7 × 2.6 cm / 45 × 17 × 26 mm / 1.77 × 0.67 × 1.02 inch. Estimated weight: 19 g / 0.67 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
