About this specimen

From Zambia comes this tall clear quartz crystal with a feature collectors hunt for: a small scepter crystal growing through its side, part of a crystal-in-crystal formation. The main body carries a soft peach glow from fine reddish specks scattered near the base, while the upper half stays bright and transparent.
Turn it in the light and rainbows flash from inside, best seen in the side-lying photo. The faces show crisp horizontal striations and a glossy natural lustre, and the lower end is left rough where it grew from the matrix. It is a substantial piece with real presence on a shelf or desk.
