Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, arsenopyrite at 4 cm; a miniature. It is arsenic-bearing.
Arsenopyrite forms silver-white, wedge-shaped crystals with a bright metallic lustre; it is a signature associate of Chinese tungsten and tin deposits.
Hunan is the heartland of Chinese mineral collecting, home to Yaogangxian, Xianghualing and Shangbao, and its fluorite, calcite and sulfides are the benchmark for the country.
By size it is miniature. Condition is otherwise as photographed.
