About this specimen
Dark royal-blue azurite crystals emerge from thick botryoidal malachite on an Anhui matrix. Rounded green malachite covers much of the surface in overlapping domes, while blue blades and compact clusters fill recesses between them. The contrast shifts from turquoise-green along the outer areas to nearly black blue near the center. The side view reveals the coating's depth and additional azurite partly enclosed by the malachite.
