About this specimen
Dimensions: 23.0 × 8.5 × 7.0 cm (9.06 × 3.35 × 2.76 in); longest edge 230 mm (9.06 in).
Feathery wisps of blue needles drift through the upper body of this tall clear quartz tower, sitting alongside a crystal-in-crystal that grew inside the main body. Under a torch beam on a dark background the angel feathers show their blue tone most clearly; in daylight they read as fine white veils within very clear quartz.
The point and sides are polished to a glassy finish, while the frosted, cloudy base keeps its natural skin with a few tan marks. Rainbows flicker on one upper face as it turns. At this height it makes a commanding piece for a mantel or console table.
