About this specimen
Yunnan double-terminated quartz at 3.2 cm and 7.8 g; a miniature, priced with the tip disclosed. A stout double-terminated quartz packed with sparkling black inclusions, the Shanling quartz the supplier names; the supplier notes one tip is very slightly damaged.
Double-terminated quartz grew free of the wall, so both ends carry natural terminations.
Yunnan's copper and lead-zinc districts produce the azurite, malachite, pyromorphite, hemimorphite and blue aragonite that define Chinese secondary minerals.
By size it is miniature, 1.3 × 1.3 × 3.2 cm (0.51 × 0.51 × 1.26 in) and 7.8 g (0.3 oz). Disclosed condition: one very slightly damaged tip. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
