About this specimen
Yunnan double-terminated quartz at 3.4 cm and 7 g; a miniature. A clear double-terminated quartz with a burst of sparkling dark flecks inside, the burst-crystal Shanling quartz the supplier names, both tips complete as the supplier notes.
Double-terminated quartz grew free of the wall, so both ends carry natural terminations.
Yunnan's copper and lead-zinc districts produce the azurite, malachite, pyromorphite, hemimorphite and blue aragonite that define Chinese secondary minerals.
