About this specimen
Yunnan veszelyite at 2.7 cm; a miniature, supplied in the display box shown. Veszelyite in strong blue is scattered in small clusters across a pale green and cream matrix, the blue reading sharply against the soft background colour.
Veszelyite crystals show a saturated greenish-blue that few copper minerals match, and good Chinese specimens have made the species collectable worldwide.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 2.7 × 2.1 × 1.5 cm (1.06 × 0.83 × 0.59 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
