About this specimen

Long, narrow and steadily tapering, this Brazilian quartz is a true laser point, the slim wand shape collectors prize. A pale yellow skin coats the crystal, and over it are scattered yellow mica flowers, rusty-gold patches that gather along the edges and near the tip.
Close up, the surface shows a fine frosted, feathery texture, while the body glows warm honey-gold when the sun shines through it. The tip narrows to a small translucent crown. Unpolished and natural, it has real presence when stood upright or laid along a shelf, and it photographs beautifully against greenery.
