About this specimen
Dimensions: 5.8 × 5.8 × 5.8 cm (2.28 × 2.28 × 2.28 in); longest edge 58 mm (2.28 in).
Dark mica blooms inside this clear quartz sphere. Several black booklets open up like flowers, their layered edges frosted silver, and the mica itself throws a rainbow shimmer when the light hits it right. Between them, fine cotton-like wisps sparkle with tiny glints.
Turn the sphere and the arrangement changes: one view shows a single dark flower at the centre, another a pair of flat silvery clusters, and on one side a small round orange-brown spot. The quartz is clear and bright overall. It is a polished sphere that sits well in the hand and is fun to explore under a lamp.
