About this specimen
Guizhou creedite at 3.5 cm; a miniature. White creedite needles spray out from the face of a grey-brown rock in two separate tufts, the fine crystals standing well clear of the surface.
A hydrated calcium-aluminium sulfate-fluoride, creedite is rare in good crystals, and the sparkling sprays from Guizhou are the reference material for most collections.
Guizhou is the classic source for collector creedite and hosts important fluorite, calcite and copper-mineral localities around Qinglong.
By size it is miniature, 3.5 × 3.2 × 1.8 cm (1.38 × 1.26 × 0.71 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
