About this specimen

Ink-violet fluorite has grown here as balls rather than blocks. A dozen rounded aggregates sit across a sugary quartz crust the colour of old ivory, each one assembled from hundreds of tiny cubes packed into a sphere; the tight group at the upper right looks black until light reaches into it and the purple comes back.

Fujian material in this tone is traded as Tanzan fluorite, and the spherical habit is the interesting part. Instead of one crystal growing steadily on an open face, thousands of nuclei started at once on the quartz druse and grew outward together, so what looks like a ball is really a crowd. Fluorite is CaF2, Mohs 4, with perfect cleavage on four sets of planes — the spheres chip more easily than their solid look suggests, so lift the specimen by its plate rather than by the purple.

The plate runs 10.4 × 6.6 × 4.1 cm and weighs 230 g, thin enough to lean upright or lie flat in a drawer. No base is included. Nothing here is a stock image — this is the plate itself.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Fluorite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
