About this specimen
A cluster of glassy emerald-green dioptase crystals, large for the species, over a base of dark green fibrous malachite. Thumbnail size with saturated colour.
DR Congo dioptase with malachite at 5 cm and 43 g; a thumbnail gem cluster. Handle by the base; avoid dust.
